Products we want to understand before we recommend them
A practical product directory and an open review notebook. We are building toward hands-on reviews of wallets, security equipment, and useful computers. Products on the research list have not yet been personally tested by Crown & Ledger. A listing is not a tested recommendation.

Quiet long-term storage: start with wallet separation and recovery. Compare the exact model’s signing display, supported assets, backup design and update process.
Everyday transactions: examine supported networks, recipient verification, fee requirements and app permissions. Keep the recovery dependency separate where appropriate; an activity wallet does not make an application safe.
Account sign-in protection: compare security-key compatibility and backup access. A sign-in security key is a different product from a crypto signing device.
Research worksheet: record the exact model, purpose, asset/network support, phone/computer compatibility, purchase and optional ongoing costs, recovery method, manufacturer evidence, limitations and checked date. Leave an unverified field marked “not verified.”
Our current status: the entries below are research leads, not ranked winners. We will publish model-by-model findings and hands-on results only when we have the evidence. Compare custody, yield and borrowing arrangements separately.
Ledger Atom: our preorder diary
Status: preordered by David; not received or hands-on tested. David plans to review Ledger Atom after it arrives. Ledger currently advertises summer 2027 shipping; the timing may change. Until then, this is a review plan, not a verdict.
Ledger describes Atom as a device for digital-asset signing, privacy, and compatible applications. We will distinguish the manufacturer’s claims from our own observations. Read the official Ledger Atom page (affiliate link). Crown & Ledger may earn a commission on qualifying purchases.
What our eventual review will cover
Unboxing and setup clarity; reviewing a transaction on the device; everyday usability; supported assets and applications at the time of testing; backup and recovery instructions; update experience; accessibility; and optional service or connectivity costs. We will use test accounts and small test amounts where appropriate. We will never publish a recovery phrase or private key.
We will also ask whether it makes sense for a household, what a new user needs to learn first, and what it cannot replace. Hands-on use will not constitute an independent security audit.

Security keys
Research category · compatibility matters
Yubico official website. Before buying any security key, confirm that the services and devices you use support it, and plan a backup sign-in method. A security key is not a cryptocurrency wallet.
Computers and accessories
Research category · start with what you own
Framework and Dell are manufacturer starting points for computer research. A dedicated or expensive computer is not automatically necessary for learning about crypto. We will evaluate practical needs before making model recommendations.
How a product earns a recommendation
We label manufacturer information as research. A hands-on review must identify the exact model, how the unit was obtained, the testing date and tasks, what worked, limitations, and who the product may or may not suit. David’s personal experience will be identified as personal experience; we will not invent it.
No products in this new directory currently carry a Crown & Ledger personally tested recommendation. We will add recommendations only when there is enough evidence to explain them honestly.
Referrals, donations, and future sales
Ledger store links labeled affiliate links and the Ledger advertisement are referral links. Crown & Ledger may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. Other vendor listings remain informational unless labeled otherwise. Compensation does not buy a favorable review; our hands-on testing status is stated separately.
Crown & Ledger does not currently sell or fulfill these products. Any future reseller activity will require a separate arrangement with the vendor. Voluntary support helps us build the site and may help fund future review equipment; no particular product purchase or review date is promised in exchange.
