During: note one factual claim, one opinion and one unanswered question. Pause at the source: an original filing, government release or technical document is stronger evidence than a repeated headline.
After: find an independent source, identify what could be wrong, and choose a learning step—not an automatic trade. For tax or legal topics, verify current U.S. and New York guidance and obtain qualified help for your own situation.
A family activity: fact, opinion or advertisement?
Fictional household exercise: an adult and teenager hear “this investment is safe and will double.” On paper, classify that sentence, list the missing evidence and rewrite it without a promise. Answer: it is an unsupported forecast and safety claim until evidence establishes otherwise. Do not open accounts, share private details or make a purchase for this exercise.
